Spending Time Wisely

I love Yoga With Adriene. Recently, I signed up for her TRUE – 30 Day Yoga Journey. She sends a daily email, and when I read this message on day one, I was blown away.

“New year, true you.

The message is clear. You don’t need fixing, you don’t need to waste energy searching for tools to help you get what you don’t have. You have everything you need.”     ~Yoga With Adriene

I do believe that we each already know what we need to live our best lives. I think if we just listen to the right thoughts that lead us to the best actions to take, we will be fine. Maybe even better than fine.

One of my goals for 2018 is to be more mindful of my time. If it feels right to you, think about what areas of your life are important to you and look at what you spend your time on.

For me, I have three areas I plan to spend time on: work, family & friends, and me. I will see how much time I can devote to each area. It brings me joy to know that I have some say in where I put my energy. My goal is to use my time wisely.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading!

An Inspiring and Timely Book

What a terrific book! One of my daughters instantly came to mind when I was first introduced to this book. I thought she would appreciate the stories it contains. I, of course, was intrigued as well.

The collection of stories in this book come from every continent on earth and illustrate the incredible lives of women who have pushed boundaries, showed fearlessness, and paved the way for all women in the past, present, and future.

How about this for an intro.? “Close your eyes and picture a pirate. Now picture a spy. Imagine a president. A warrior in battle. A great painter. A soccer player. A pharaoh. The women in this book are all these things, and more.”

Forty women are highlighted in this book. The stories range from 4,300 years ago to today. Each piece is easy to read and nicely illustrated.

This is a well done book that could appeal to almost any reader: male, female, young, and old. The stories within are inspirational, moving, and leave the reader in awe of what can be accomplished in life.

Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my review.

10 Simple Ways to Fix Your Posture

I think there are a couple of truths when it comes to posture: 1.) We all know we should strive to have good posture; 2) We also know it’s easier and sometimes feels more comfortable to slouch a bit; and 3) We don’t like the appearance poor posture gives us.

Here is an article I wrote for the online magazine Lifehack – Tips for Life.
